I sell Native American Flutes under the brand name of Fancy Gap Flutes.  These are examples of flutes that I have left after friends and family got theirs. I find people like them not only for the sound, but also as a pleasing ornament.

This is a printable brochure for Fancy Gap Flutes.

Number 1 Spruce and Walnut G I had made a few PVC flutes, but this is my first wood attempt. It is made out of an old spruce 2 x 4 and is a solid piece of wood, bored on my lathe. The walls are very thick, but it plays ok.
As my first flute, when I completed it, I took it to the house to show my wife. I put it on the porch table and walked away. When I came back some time later, a dog got it and took off with it. To a dog, it appears to be a really cool stick. My neighbor found the chewed up carcass and brought it back home. That is why it has the walnut on each end. Still plays.

Number 2 Spruce GThis is number 2. Looks way more like a NAF. It is also a solid bore made out of the other half of the spruce 2 x 4. It is tuned to G. I think it plays very well. It evens cross fingers some, pure luck

Walnut w/Walnut bird in G This is a split bore made with the plunge router jig. Made of Walnut with a Walnut bird, tuned to G.

Maple w/Walnut bird in A This is a split bore made on the router table. Made of Maple with a Walnut bird, tuned to A.

Maple w/Walnut in F sharp This is a split bore made on the router table. Made of Maple with a Walnut bird, tuned to F sharp.

Bear closeup This is a split 1 inch bore made with the plunge router jig. Made of Oak with a Walnut bear (Some people think it looks like a dog. I say to each their own), tuned to Low D. The holes are 1 1/4 apart and in line. Very hard for me to finger. Oak w/Walnut bear in Low D

Oak w/Poplar bird in Low D This is a split 3/4 oval bore made with the plunge router jig. Made of Oak with a Walnut bird tuned to low D. This one has offset holes to finger easier.

Cedar w/Poplar High C12/3/2007 - This is a new addition to the Fancy Gap Flutes collection.  A High C made of Cedar with a Poplar block.  This one also has added artwork and very easy and enjoyable to play.

Maple w/Walnut Eagle in A12/3/2007 - This is a new addition to the Fancy Gap Flutes collection.  An A made of Maple with a Walnut Eagle Block.  This one and the next are the first flutes with the air channel in the flute and new mouthpiece design.

Maple w/Walnut Buffalo in A12/3/2007 - This is a new addition to the Fancy Gap Flutes collection.  An A made of Maple with a Walnut Buffalo Block.  This one has the air channel in the flute and new mouthpiece design.. I find it this makes a different tone.
